Making the decision to begin therapy for you or your family member is the first step in the healing journey. It can be a challenging, but very rewarding process. There are many life stressors and I enjoy helping people navigate these stressors in order to start feeling a sense of comfort and confidence within themselves.
A little about my experience:
I received my Master's in Social Work from Yeshiva University and a BS in Human Development & Family Studies from the University of Rhode Island.
After my Master's, I went to the Metropolitan Institute to obtain a certificate in Child & Adolescent Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. I also went to the New School for Social Research and earned a certificate in the Creative Arts Therapies.
I have worked with children and adolescents dealing with childhood traumas such as physical and sexual abuse. I have worked with the parents of these children and also worked with geriatric patients on a sub -acute unit in a hospital.
Most of the children, adolescents and adults I have seen have struggled with the following: anxiety, depression, executive functioning, various levels of ADHD or autism, social skills, bullying, life transitions, and grief.
I enjoy using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Psychodynamic Therapy. For children and adolescents, I like utilizing play or art therapy, journaling & stress management exercises.
A little about me:
I have been in personal psychotherapy myself for 10 years and am very familiar with being a patient and all the emotions and commitment that surround therapy.
I am married, have three grown children, and a Doberman. I love cooking, taking long walks or hikes with my dog and all things wellness related. I also enjoy playing Wordle & Rummikub.
