Paul Groenewal, PsyD
Dr. Paul Groenewal is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and a Sport Psychologist. He completed a Masters and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Fuller Theological Seminary. His clients include teams wanting to increase cohesion and creating an environment that promotes high performance. Dr. Groenewal assists individual performers in understanding their personal psychology and developing strategies that lead to elite performances. He is the Sport Psychologist for the Brooklyn Nets, where his job is to educate on, develop and implement high performance strategies for elite athletes. He also works with the NY Liberty, the Nets Gaming Crew, and serves as a clinical consultant to the NY Jets. Dr. Groenewal is the co-owner of a group psychology practice called Inspire Wellness. His group includes more than 25 clinicians and 3 locations in northern New Jersey. He has worked with athletes at many levels and in various sports.
Marissa Norman, PsyD
Dr. Marissa Norman is a Sport Psychologist holding a M.S. in Sport and Exercise Psychology and a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology. Marissa has 7-years of experience working alongside athletes of different backgrounds and levels (youth athletes to professional athletes) in addition to her own personal experience competing as a Division I Track and Field Pentathlete and Heptathlete. Marissa has worked with student-athletes, teams, coaches, administrators and staff at several Division I, II, and III institutions including the University of Minnesota, Bowdoin College, and Barry University. She has also severed as the team sport psychologist for the USA Junior Curling High Performance Program. Considering each athlete’s individualistic needs, Marissa aims to help her clients reach their full potential both in athletics and life endeavors. In addition to supporting athletes in enhancing performance through mental skills training, she provides mental health and counseling support.
Kate Martino, LAC, NCC
Kate is a Licensed Associate Counselor and National Certified Counselor. She received a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She completed her Bachelor’s degree from The College of the Holy Cross where she majored in Psychology. Kate previously worked as a Mental Health Associate at High Focus Center and monitored adolescent clients in partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment groups. She currently specializes in working with youth, high school, collegiate, and professional athletes by providing mental strategies to help them reach optimal performance in their sport. In addition to enhancing athlete performance, Kate addresses mental health issues and develops individualized treatment plans to fit each client’s needs. Kate was a 12 Letter Varsity athlete at Summit High School competing in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. She was a member of the 2013 NCAA Division I Women’s Lacrosse National Championship Team at the University of North Carolina. Kate finished her lacrosse career at the College of the Holy Cross.
